Services
This practice offers psychotherapy and psychotherapy-informed medication management. The primary focus of the practice is the care of patients interested in pursuing psychotherapy with Dr. Frank, with or without medication management integrated into their care as needed. These patients typically have 50-minute appointments weekly or every other week. A variety of psychotherapy strategies may be used, including but not limited to supportive, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral.
A limited number of slots are also available for patients primarily interested in medication management. These patients are generally also in ongoing care with another therapist or are prior patients of Dr. Frank. Patients have either 25-minute or 50-minute appointments and are seen as frequently as weekly but may be seen less frequently, e.g. monthly. Brief psychotherapy services are also included in medication management visits. Please note that because this practice is telehealth-focused, our ability to prescribe stimulants and benzodiazepines is limited.
As noted above, this practice is telehealth based. We use HIPAA-compliant software to allow you to attend visits from the privacy of your own home or office.
Prior to a first appointment to begin care, all prospective patients are scheduled for a free 15-20 minute introductory phone call with Dr. Frank. This call is not medical treatment and does not require you to begin care with Dr. Frank. Rather, it’s an opportunity for you to learn about the practice and ask questions, and it’s also an opportunity for Dr. Frank to learn more about your needs and goals. This allows us to make a decision about whether the practice seems like a likely fit for your needs; if it is, we then schedule you for a 70-minute intake appointment.
Our patients are often busy professionals and/or caregivers, and we know that predictability of scheduling can be critical to forming a trusting treatment relationship and managing the logistics and time commitment of regular appointments. So, barring unexpected emergencies, the practice strives to provide consistently on-time appointments (starting within a few minutes of the scheduled time), so that you know when you can be back to your next scheduled activity.
